Onion Bhajis are made with onions , flour and a few spices Onion Bhajis are dead easy to make , and even easier to eat especially with some yogurt and mint dip or mango chutney .

    How to Make Onion Bhaji

    A bhaji, is a type of fritter originating from the Indian subcontinent in a place called Karnataka It is made from spicy hot vegetables, commonly onion and flour.

    In Indian cuisine the Onion Bhaji was a snack food that was often used to welcome guests into your home.

    Today the Onion Bhaji has become popular as an Indian Takeaway side dish.

    ingredients

    1-2 Brown onion
    60 g of flour
    1 teaspoon of Turmeric
    1 teaspoon of Fennel Seed
    1 teaspoon of Cumin Seeds
    1/2 teaspoons of Chilli powder
    1 teaspoon of Coriander
    Salt
    50 ml water
    50 ml Rapeseed Oil
    Oil for frying

    Cooking Instructions

    1. Peel and slice up the onion into thin slices.
    2. Mix together with the salt in a mixing bowl , until the onion is well separated.
    3. Add all of the other spices to the bowl and mix together well.
    4. Add the flour to the bowl and mix up the ingredients.
    5. Then add the water and Oil, mix in with a fork until a thick paste is formed.
    6. Heat some Oil in a pan to about 150 c.
    7. With two desert spoons , make quenelle's out of the mixture and drop into the oil ..... three at a time.
    8. Cook for around 5 minutes , or until the bhaji's are floating.
    9. Drain on some kitchen roll and serve with yogurt and mint dip.
